CES Thursday Wrap-up: The Hottest Stories from TechRadar

The hour is nigh for the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show. We’ve seen some amazing televisions and other exciting gadgets from Las Vegas this week, but like any good thing there is an end. Thankfully, the team at sister site TechRadar is still cranking out some great hands-on previews and news. Let’s take a look at a brief sample of Thursday’s happenings.

The Mad Catz M.O.U.S.9 Looks Complicated

As noted by TechRadar, the new Mad Catz M.O.U.S.9 is somehow not a gaming mouse. You would be forgiven for thinking so, though. This thing looks like it’s from a future where peripherals are grafted into our skin. But fear not gamers: Mad Catz has also announced the R.A.T.M for your needs. No, it’s not an acronym for Rage Against The Machine, it’s the new spiritual successor to the heavily customizable R.A.T.7 gaming mouse. Be sure to head through the link for a glance at these crazy-looking mice. They look G.R.E.A.T.

Hands-on with the Philips Glasses-free HDTV

Ever since the release of the Nintendo 3DS, we’ve wondered if true glasses-free 3D television would ever prove a valuable piece of new tech. While the concept has shown up on a few TV models with varying results, Philips is taking the idea to another level with it 60-inch Ultra HD unit. According to the TechRadar team, the television looks sharp–but e still don’t know about a launch date or the ever-important price point.

What an interesting week it’s been, yeah? Gigantic TVs, 4K tablets, Steam Boxes; the list goes on. Sure, we can do all kinds of cool things with the iPhone these days. But if you could go back in time and talk to your 12-year old self, wouldn’t it involve a remote-controlled flying contraption with a mounted camera? Yeah, probably. The new model of the AR Drone incorporates GPS functionality, even going so far as using the data to build 3D models of its flight. Plus, the in-the-works update will improve battery life, offering up to 20 minutes of flight time.
